Saturday March 27th, from 7 to midnight!
If you’re old enough to have walked through the "Ladies & Escorts" side of Paddy Greene’s, and you remember asking the waiter to "drop a tray", then you’re not going to want to miss this party! It’s a Paddy Greene"s Reunion! When the historic Paddy Greene’s Westdale Hotel was demolished in 1984, some figured the century-old tavern didn’t get the send-off it deserved. One Hamilton newspaper columnist wrote: "It seems odd the place shut down with so little fanfare and such a lack of ceremony, the old walls having stood to hear a million toasts to other milestones…"
It’s ben just over 25 years since Paddy Greene’s served its last draught and the walls of the Hamilton landmark fell to make way for a plaza, so now is the time for anyone who feels they didn’t get the chance to say a proper goodbye to that home away from home to do so. Mike Greene, great-grandson of the man who put his name on the old Globe Tavern in 1906, has teamed up with long-time friend and former Paddy Greene’s patron Ron Tustian to organize a Paddy Greene’s reunion.
Here are the details: It will be held at the new Ancaster Fairgrounds, Merritt Hall. Cash Bar, Refreshments & Live Entertainment by Michael McCurlie’s Banned From Heaven and special guests and friends. All proceeds to benefit the Good Shepherd Centres in Hamilton. Donations of non-perishable food items are encouraged. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Tickets are available from: Cliff’s Vacuum at 598 Upper James St., Paul Ferguson Financial Group at 335 Wilson St. E. in Ancaster Grapes & Hops at 11 Paisley Ave. S. in Westdale There are also some individuals selling tickets. Contact Paul Ferguson’s Financial Group and they can advise you further if these locations are not convenient. Can’t wait to see you all there!

Hi there. Unfortunately, I am unable to travel from New Brunswick, back to Hamilton to share in this great event. I remember the good ole days, a tray for $5.00, and green beer on St. Paddy"s Day, school lunch periods having a beer. No problem. Have a good reunion, enjoy the event. Drink the odd beer, lol. Brian

Hi from Alberta to all the former Paddy"s crowd! I remember fondly those Fri and Sat nights, and the 35 cent draughts. Wish I could be there, but have a couple for me. :)

Wow sounds exciting but i will be away skiing. I miss the days of crazy old dennis dropping a tray of beer on my table for $10 the taste of soapy glasses and stumbling out of there. Best period i had in school never skipped glasses when in Paddies. Learned so much. Cheers to all who attend, Hope we can do it again sometime when i am not away. Party on DUDES

Hi Arlene. Great idea. I have many good memories from my many visits to Paddy"s while going to school, during school lunches, and on Friday and Saturday nights. I was one of the lucky ones who didn"t look my age, lol. Kindly let me know the location of the reunion on March 27th. Thanks.

I hope your reunion went well. As I live in Vancouver it was impossible for me to get there. Did anyone take any pictures? I do remember Ladies & escorts...and dropping a tray with Brian mason and Luigi Pronesti
